The Patient Transporter primarily works varied weekday hours between 6a - 6p based on person served transport needs, a minimum of 32 up to 40 total hours per week, supporting our Ankeny Inpatient and Polk City Inpatient programs. On rare occasions, out of town appointments may require hours outside of 6a - 6p. There are no weekend or holiday expectations. You will have a general idea of your schedule for each week, but some flexibility is required for last minute changes.
Our Patient Transporter positions start at $18/hour for minimum/no experience. We pay a 9% differential on your experienced-based base wage for all hours worked between 2pm and 10pm, and 11% for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your anniversary. This full-time position is eligible for subsidized health and dental insurance, vision insurance, free life and long-term disability insurance, a 401k match, PTO and long-term sick pay, and other benefits. What do our Patient Transporters do? Ensures an efficient and effective rehabilitation process through timely, supportive, safe and friendly non-emergency transport of persons served and equipment to and from the facility for outings, appointments, and other person-served or organizational purposes Plans around various schedules, assisting persons served in and out of vehicles, including lifts/transfers and the use of various safety/security apparatus, and coordinating with other rehabilitation team members When not driving/transporting, this position also assists with various duties within the Nursing department. If you have your CNA certification, this could include opportunities for direct care.
