Job Description:
The Patrol Agent is primarily responsible for ensuring safety and protecting University property; executes appropriate action when dealing with problems, incidents, and/or safety hazards or concerns; and maintains accurate and current records.
Shift Details: Wednesday - Sunday 1 pm to 9 pm (Monday and Tuesdays off) Must be flexible to provide coverage on other shifts
** Starting pay $22 per hour and up based on experience **
The Patrol Agent is primarily responsible to ensure safety and protects University property; executes appropriate action when dealing with problems, incidents, and/or safety hazards or concerns; and maintains accurate and current records.
Effectively patrols campus and monitors surrounding neighborhood activity; responds to call/ incidents, providing direction, guidance, and/or assistance, serving as liaison to and reporting information to KCPD.
Thoroughly conducts investigations and takes control of situations when they arise.
Enforces parking rules and regulations which include: patrolling the lots, identifying non-compliance, issuing tickets to violators, and removing non-authorized personnel.
Maintains accurate and current records and files by updating log book, preparing written reports, and completing data entry.
Represent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organization.
Other administrative tasks (i.e., filing, preparing documentation).
Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
Actively participate in team and University meetings
Qualifications: High school diplomaMinimum of one (1) year of security and/or law enforcement preferred.
Military security experience is acceptable with proof of honorable discharge (DD214)Requires qualification for armed patrol agent commission issued by the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners.Valid driver's licenseExcellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact and work effectively with people at all levels in an organization and outsideDemonstrate ability to make good judgments and independent decisionAbility to quickly respond to emergenciesRequires good hearing and eyesightStrong attention to detailExcellent verbal & written communication skills Physical Requirements: Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overheadAbility to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group settingAbility to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions Equal Opportunity Employer
