POSITION PURPOSE:
The Payroll Specialist II/III shall be responsible for processing weekly timecards and payroll for assigned companies. Their duties include verifying employees' work hours and payment through the payroll system, issuing appropriate deductions, issuing appropriate earnings, and updating payroll records regularly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain, audit and quality check employee timecard records for compliance with established standards.Maintain employee records, ensuring accurate setup of basic information and tax withholding.Ensure payroll processing is in compliance with Federal and State laws and completed in a timely manner.Oversee salary changes, bonus and vacation payouts, involuntary and voluntary deductions for employees.Respond to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner.Scan, file and process records.401k account audit reconciliation.Preparation of W2 forms.Process Flexible Spending accounts. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other minor administrative duties may be assigned to assist in other areas of the finance and accounting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: High School Education.Four (4) to ten (10) years as a Payroll Clerk/Specialist to include general payroll/timekeeping experience.Experience with ADP Tax compliance. Skills and Abilities: High degree of accuracy.Great attention to detail.Strong customer service skills.Proficiency in mathematics.Microsoft Excel.Computerized payroll system.Knowledge of payroll taxes and processes.Ability to research and resolve discrepancies. Special Requirements: Must pass pre-employment background check.Must pass pre-employment drug testing.Must have a valid driver license.Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, an accounting Union Payroll.Certified payroll reporting.General ledger & reconciliation experience.Multi-state tax experience software for government contractors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, type and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

This position is in a general office setting with low to moderate noise.
