Salary: $50,000-$60,000 based on experience. Hours: Monday–Friday 9:00AM – 4:30PM
The Town is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the biweekly payroll process and ensuring accurate payroll reporting and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Primary duties include but are not limited to: Process biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Manage all aspects of payroll reporting, including:Tax filing and compliance with tax tables.State retirement reporting.Annual 1095 reporting for ACA compliance.Oversee time and attendance systems that integrate with payroll processes.Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and related matters.Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee records.Maintain and update payroll policies and procedures.Related duties as required.Prior experience with Tyler Munis and UKG software preferred.Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least an Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Business Management and one (1) year of paid experience in the maintenance of financial accounts and records; OR,Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years of paid experience involving the application and explanation of rules, procedures and policies regarding the preparation and processing of payroll records.The Town of Guilderland provides equal employment opportunities through recruitment, selection, retention, and advancement in all job classifications, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or disability, and to ensure that all matters affecting employees' terms and conditions of employment are administered in a manner consistent with applicable federal, state, and local law.
