JOB TITLE/LOCATION: Payroll Specialist – Oxford, CT
DESCRIPTION: The Payroll Specialist will coordinate all payroll activities and functions for one or multiple divisions to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Works closely with Human Resources and Accounting on all payroll related issues. Ensures weekly and bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Checks non-exempt and hourly time and attendance utilizing an electronic software product for compliance with policy, state and regulatory requirements. Reviews computed wages and corrects errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly. Maintain accurate payroll records, including reconciliation of payroll account. Works with Human Resources to ensure accurate benefits deductions and record keeping. Review and audit master file and pay data entries, YTD totals, and file amendments. Prepare various payroll and management reports. Handles wage garnishments, deductions, and vacation/sick accruals. Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters. Process manual checks as requested by Human Resources or Accounting. Maintains confidentiality on all payroll and employee related information. Participates in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits as required. Attendance at work is an essential function of the job EDUCATION: Asociates degree or certificate from a college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE: Prefer 2-5 years processing payroll within a time and attendance software Must have knowledge of Kronos and Ultimate Software, or similar payroll processing system AS400 experience a plus Strong background in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook RBC Bearings offers a competitive and excellent benefits package.
