DescriptionChildren's Healthcare of Atlanta Cardiology is seeking a physician to work in an outpatient pediatric cardiology office to provide outpatient pediatric consultative and follow-up care for patients with suspected or proven cardiac issues. Responsibilities include taking pertinent history, performing physical exams, interpreting electrocardiograms and echocardiograms, and managing Holter and cardiac event monitors. This position is full-time, and the physician is expected to know the indications for and ordering of specific testing modalities, interpreting results, and communicating them with families and referring physicians.
The physician will also provide consultative and inpatient services, including ordering, interpreting, and communicating test results at hospitals where they provide services by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Cardiology (Children's Cardiology). Emphasis will be placed on in-house consultative services, including coverage weeks at one of the nation's largest birthing centers (Northside Hospital) and at CHOA's Scottish Rite campus. Strong hands-on echocardiography skills are required, and the ability to perform and interpret fetal echocardiograms is desired for outpatient visits and consultations at outside hospitals/perinatology practices. This position also involves care of heart failure patients.
The physician must become competent and compliant with the electronic medical records, policies, and procedures of Children's Cardiology and hospitals where they have privileges. The position involves navigation of multiple electronic medical records and echocardiography reporting systems.
