Overview:Pediatrix Cardiology of the Rocky Mountains (An affiliate of the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children) seeks an experienced sonographer to join our growing team. Providing diagnostic ultrasounds for patients, our sonographers work with various members of the health care team, including cardiologists, surgeons, nurses, and medical staff.For more than 30 years, Pediatrix Cardiology of the Rocky Mountains has been a trusted provider of pediatric cardiology services to hospitals and physicians across the Rocky Mountain region. Our six board-certified pediatric cardiologists specialize in the care of the fetus, infant, child, adolescent, and adult with congenital heart disease.Once appropriately trained, sonographers in the practice perform echoes on all patients, including fetal echocardiography. Time for one-on-one teaching from our experienced sonographers and physicians and regularly scheduled education time are important facets of our echo lab.Two pediatric offices in the metro Denver area with outreach clinics in Colorado, Wyoming, and NebraskaNeonatal, Pediatric, and Adult Congenital cardiac surgery programFull-service physician only practice includes interventional Cath and invasive EP serviceInpatient and outpatient careMonday through Friday schedule with some weekend and overnight callIncreased pay scale for sonographers with fetal echo certificationIAC certified lab for Fetal and Pediatric echocardiographyResponsibilities:The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients. The diagnostic medical sonographer works with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care to patients.Prepares patients for ultrasound examination.Prepares patients for physicians.Explains procedures to the patient prior to the commencement of the testing and provides patient education related to medical ultrasound.Explains procedures to assure cooperation and optimum test results.Ensures the appropriate consent and/or declinations are obtained.Conducts ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.Assists physician during invasive procedures requiring ultrasound guidance.Maintains patient confidentiality.Maintains patient charts and records, and records and processes sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the procedure for presentation to the interpreting physician.Code appropriately for services performed; submit completed billing work sheets daily.Notify Patient Service Associate of additional services performed which require authorization.Maintains proper operation of the ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of ultrasound supplies.Maintain archives/records scans.Maintains effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.Acts in a non-directive, non-judgmental manner, recognizing an individual's religious, ethical, and moral opinions/beliefs.Recognizes ethical, legal and professional issues inherent in providing care to pregnant women.Comply with safety and security training and OSHA standards/regulations.Complete all required Compliance Training.Participates in staff development, in-service workshops and educational activities.Participates in professional development activities and meetingsMaintains professional affiliations.Performs other assigned duties as directedQualifications:Minimum six months experience as an ultrasound technician working in pediatric and/or adult echocardiography setting preferred.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Fetal experience is preferred, or training will be provided.Participates in staff development, in-service workshops, and educational activities.Participates in professional development activities and meetings.Additional certification through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).Requirements:Possess or be eligible for certification in adult and/or pediatric echocardiography through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).Must adhere with the outlined certification maintenance requirements through ARDMS which includes but are not limited to, renewals, continuing medical education (CME) periods, and compliance policies.Satisfactory completion of one of the following; at least two (2) years in an accredited Allied Health Educational Program and one (1) year on-the-job- training in cardiac ultrasound, or completion of an approved cardiac ultrasound educational program.CPR certification required.New graduates of a cardiac ultrasound program who are employed in an accredited facility must obtain an appropriate credential within one year from the date of graduation.Benefits and Compensation:Benefits for Full Time employees and qualified dependents:Medical, Dental, Vision InsuranceProgyny Fertility BenefitsTeladoc Health and Second Opinion Services401(K) Thrift Program & Sharing Plan**Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) – 15% discount*Basic Employee; Spouse; Child Life InsuranceAccidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)Employee Optional Life and AD&DShort & Long Term DisabilityPre-Tax Health Savings Accounts (HSA)Employee and Dependent Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)Parental Leave BenefitSick Pay BankEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Group Aflac PoliciesIdentity Theft ProtectionEmployee Charitable FundCare.comContinuing Education AssistanceVarious Discount Programs*Part Time Regular employee classifications also receive this benefit**Available to part-time regular and part-time casual employees aged 21 and overThe expected pay for this position ranges from $34.62 - $64.18 per hour and is based on years of relevant experience and Fetal Echo certification.This job posting will remain open, and we will continue to accept applications until an offer has been extended and accepted.About Us:Pediatrix Medical Group is one of the nation's leading providers of highly specialized health care for women, babies and children.
