Pediatric Hematology Oncology (G50480)Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU Health - Richmond, VA Mission or Goal of Unit: The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation at the Childrens Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) is seeking a pediatric hematologist/oncologist with an interest in benign hematology and coagulation. Childrens Hospital of Richmond of the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System has committed itself to transforming the division into a model academic unit devoted to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and clinical, translational, and basic research.Chief Purpose of this position: The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology role will provide support the division in its continuity of care for new and existing patients. The division and CHoR are part of the NCI-designated Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. CHoR is one of 4 qualified hemophilia treatment centers in the state of Virginia, and one of two lifespan programs in the state. The QTC multidisciplinary team includes a dedicated APP, social worker, nursing and administrative support. Additionally, the division offers a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship with support for a fourth year.Position Responsibilities:Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Faculty member will provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents, and Fellows when applicable.Research: Faculty member will have working knowledge in basic research methods and be able to participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research that division may play an active role in pursuing.Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental, hospital, or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional activities through journal review, conference presentations, etc.Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a pediatric bone marrow transplant physician for the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology.Required Qualifications:Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hematology/OncologyDemonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in an academic medical centerClinical interest in coagulation and benign hematology#LI-KB1
