JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides inpatient and outpatient medicine services to The Queen's Health System (QHS) patients through direct patient care, and teaching and supervision of students and residents from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned residents from other programs.Provides coverage for the programs' various services.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides inpatient and outpatient pediatric services including admissions, consultations, follow up care, and crisis management to QHS patients.Teaches and supervises students and residents from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned residents from other programs.Serves as a consultant to Bed Control for questions of appropriateness of hospitalization within QHS.Provides consultative services for pediatric psychiatric inpatients on Kekela.Is a Neonatal/pediatric resuscitation leader.Provides medical education to a team of students, interns and residents. Meets all requirements to provide medical education; follows appropriate policies, guidelines and duties.Performs duties in accordance with safety and health rules and standards and uses safe work techniques.OTHER DUTIES: Charge tags and documentation all done timely, accurately, legibly and in compliance with QMC guidelines, CMS regulations and PATH rules.Performs other related duties as assigned.CORE VALUES/PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS: Demonstrates The Queen's Health Systems core values of Compassion, Aloha, Respect and Excellence.Complies with all organization policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulatory requirements.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.Exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious agents is an occupational risk; therefore, standard safety regulations must be maintained to avoid contamination.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification.Board certified or board qualified in Pediatrics.Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.Member of the medical staff of the Medical Center.Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.Base salary begins at $199,877/year with opportunity for productivity and quality incentives.
