DescriptionChildren's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine seek candidates to join our group of 26 faculty members for several Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor non-tenured faculty appointment positions.
Expertise is required in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABP certification or board eligibility in pediatric critical care medicine and the ability to obtain a Georgia license are required.
Rank, salary, and tenure status are commensurate with training and experience.
Teaching responsibilities include participation in formal didactic lectures and informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and other health care professionals working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Our CCM group supports an accredited fellowship program of 15 fellows/year. The faculty are supported by a rapidly growing APP group (currently at 16 APPs) and a significant commitment to their training and education is required. Attendance and participation in presentations, small groups, simulation sessions, and multidisciplinary conferences is expected.
Clinical responsibilities include clinical practice in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at our Arthur M. Blank Hospital campus. The unit sees ~3,000 admissions/year in our 48-bed PICU, with plans to expand to 60 beds.
Academic responsibilities include investigator-initiated and collaborative research. The non-tenured faculty appointment involves a substantial commitment to research and the expansion of critical care outreach services within the healthcare system. Evidence of continuous scholarly productivity reflecting a defined focus in areas such as neurointensive care, data science, or quality improvement initiatives will be prioritized.
Opportunities for multi-disciplinary collaborations with faculty exist at Emory University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse School of Medicine, the University of Georgia, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance.
