DescriptionThe Division of Pediatric Neurology with the Emory+Children's Pediatric Institute (Emory University School of Medicine + Children's Healthcare of Atlanta) is expanding to meet the needs of a growing pediatric community. The Division serves as the primary provider of neurology services at each of our three hospital campuses and at various neighborhood locations through the metro Atlanta area.
The team is now recruiting full-time, board-certified neurologists to serve as Assistant/Associate Professors of Pediatric Neurology, to practice as Pediatric Neurohospitalists. The Neurohospitalists will support general neurology and ED consults with a focus on quality metrics, patient safety issues, managing length of stay, and reducing readmissions. This role offers diverse exposure across multiple medical and surgical specialties and allows the Neurohospitalists to collaborate with the Neurointensivist and Hospitalist teams.

Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited, four-year medical school. Graduate of an accredited, post-graduate residency program in Pediatrics. Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff.
CERTIFICATION SUMMARY: Board Eligible/Board certified. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia. Current DEA registration. BLS certification is required. PALS certification.
EXPERIENCE: No minimum experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience (Residency/Fellowship training included) in respective clinical area.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and families and as a team member. Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing as part of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Professional Staff. Provides an authenticated report of all physician services rendered and maintains accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner. Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement. Participates in meetings/activities as required to support operations of the clinical area. Participates in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS, PALS, or NALS (by 12/31/01) and maintains any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned. Performs other responsibilities as required.
