Reporting to the National Business Director, the Sales Director (SD) is responsible for the successful promotion of Children's Zyrtec and Tylenol and Aveeno Baby product lines within the Nation. Managing through a team of 4 District Managers and 5 Account Managers, the SD will oversee the activities and performance of the team. Responsible for meeting or exceeding partnership goals. This role can be based anywhere in the United States, preferably near a major airport.
Essential Functions: Manage regional staff of managers and interface with representativesIncluding selection, evaluation, and retention of employeesProvide coaching and training of District Managers to build a capable and effective team through continuous feedbackCreates a climate of trust so team members can act decisively by clarifying roles/responsibilities and establishing boundaries of decision-making.Inspires ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating the vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps.Demonstrates relentless drive to achieve business goals for the Nation and can understand and evaluate the potential impact of external events on the approved strategiesApprove and assist in the implementation of each district plans within the NationDemonstrates strong strategic thinking and communications skills by collaborating with customers and key stakeholdersHas the ability to identify issues and opportunities before others and uses robust analytical rigor to frame situations and incorporate new perspectives and ideasRemain fully versed in promotional compliance regulations including legal and regulatory and ensure team is equally trainedProvide oversight to ensure the team is promoting product consistent with policies and that only approved promotional materials and messages are used in the fieldReview employee performance, objectively assess performance and address skill development for direct reports to achieve performance management objectivesProvide feedback to the marketing department and Sales Leadership team on effectiveness of sales/educational materialsProvide thoughts on various training initiatives or gaps in skill sets with the team to enable the Training Manager to make adjustments to training plansEstablish a plan to provide regular communications to team and to receive their feedbackInterface with other functional leaders and teams in marketing, sales leadership, medical, human resources, and operations to achieve business goalsSales Director is responsible for the national budget and expense managementFrequent travel required within Nation and to the corporate offices.Requirements: B.S. degree required; M.S. or MBA preferred10+ years' experience within pharmaceutical sales with 4+ years' experience leading sales professionalsPreferred: 2+ years second line leadership experiencePreferred: Experience and working knowledge of the pediatric spaceAble to identify strategies with greatest business impact, formulate appropriate business plans within the approved strategy, and enroll their teams to execute the plan.Previous successful work experience in team selling environments, inclusive of successful management of teamsAbility to negotiate and influence cross-functionally.Excellent command of the English language required, both written and spoken.Current driver's license and clean driving record;Must live within territory or within territory boundaries.At Syneos Health, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace.
