Job Description - Pediatrician (PT/FT) Adolescent Med
Location: CNPA Foggy Bottom/Capitol Hill (230003LL)
Description:
The Pediatrician is responsible for the comprehensive care of patients in the Children's Pediatrician & Associates practices, including appropriate documentation and reporting, supervision of assigned clinical and non-clinical staff, and participation in administrative & quality improvement activities.
We are seeking a part-time or full-time, board certified/board eligible adolescent pediatrician with adolescent experience for this position.
A special interest in gender affirming care, eating disorders, or mental health is welcome.
The role includes leading adolescent education for the primary care residency track and will require a willingness to see all ages as needed.
This is a busy downtown practice with a diverse patient base offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, along with the possibility of a productivity bonus.
There is an opportunity for an academic appointment at the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
There are no hospital or nursery duties, with nurse triage coverage for night & weekend call.
Responsibilities primarily include direct patient care for patients from birth to 21 years old, as well as clinical supervision and teaching of pediatric residents.
An interest in teaching is required; experience is preferred.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Medical Doctor (M.D.)
or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)

Required Skills/Knowledge:
Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in pediatrics; knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care; ability to function independently in evaluating patient problems; ability to supervise and train clinical professionals; commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff category physician; completion of residency in pediatrics; board eligible or board certified in general pediatrics.
Responsibilities:
Perform patient care, including examinations, tests, and procedures.
Analyze reports and/or findings of tests to assess medical conditions.
Prescribe medication and treatment, and recommend routines for prevention of disease.
Document findings and procedures in the electronic medical record.
Supervise nurses and other personnel in accordance with policies and procedures.
