Job Brief The People Generalist will be a critical member of our small but mighty People Team. In this role you will lead our critical day to day People activities, acting as the main point of contact for employees, while supporting multiple People Team programs and initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include being the first point of contact for: benefits, immigration, leaves, People data and compliance, and People policies. We are looking for someone extremely proactive with a customer centric mindset. This role will be crucial in supporting our continued growth, and you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our People Team and the company as a whole!  This is a hybrid role out of the Oakland lab.
\n Key Focus Areas of the role may include:Act as the main point of contact for People Team related questions. This includes benefits, systems, policies, processes, immigration, and leaves.Assist the Recruiting team with candidate scheduling, on-site interviews, and onboarding.Support the development and implementation of People Team policies, processes, training, and systems.Play a critical role in the administration of the annual performance review cycle, engagement survey, and open enrollment.Build and maintain People related data/reporting/dashboards.Assist with employee training, including content development and logistics. This could involve owning employee training that you are passionate about.Act as a culture champion - drive and implement culture initiatives to enhance world-class employee experience.Partner with system, immigration, and benefit 3rd party vendors.Create employee communications related to People programs and events. For this role, we're looking for:Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience with at least 2 years in a hyper growth, scrappy, startup environment.Experience owning People processes with a track record of driving continuous improvement.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clear and timely responses to internal customers.Experience with data analytics and creating dashboards. Proficiency with Excel (especially vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) is a requirement for this role.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.High level of fluency in employee benefits, immigration policies, and leave management. Experience implementing and utilizing multiple People systems and applications (including but not limited to Paylocity, Culture Amp, etc.)Proactivity and self-motivation to solve problems and drive continuous improvement..Ferocious organization skills and attention to detail.Comfortable with a high degree of responsibility in ambiguous situations with a bias towards action. Additional skills that are preferred but not required:Experience at a climate tech company.Advanced data analysis and business intelligence skills (SQL, Tableau, etc.) Compensation, Benefits, and PerksSalary range for this role is $140,000 - 160,000 per yearCompany equity401k retirement plan with 3% company contributionMedical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependentsMental health benefitsGenerous paid time off policy12-weeks of parental leaveA fun, diverse, and talented team focused on making the biggest impact possible on climate change
