Position SummaryUnder direct supervision, the ERP Systems Campus Community Technical Analyst serves as the support Analyst to assist with technical analysis, troubleshooting, and operational support of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (student) system in use by students, staff, and student employees at San Diego State University. Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:Assisting with basic analysis of user and data needs and issues to determine best approach solutioning. With oversight, demonstrate ability to effectively communicate and assist in requirements gathering.Assist with day-to-day operational activities where data functional requirements come together with technical analysis to understand user needs and propose solutions. Assist in troubleshooting the use of data sharing and interfaces/integrations needed between Campus Solutions student system and other campus systems. Aid in providing technical and analytical support to operational users and work with business analysts to troubleshoot issues, test new code and maintenance packs, and help develop new proposed business processes. Learn to flowchart document business processes inclusive of proposed logic flows and technical solution documentation. Work collaboratively in partnership with the unit's functional support and analysis team of other technical analysts and report developers etc. Build and maintain working relationships with peer colleagues, management, campus businessThis is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. ERP Systems provides stewardship over a complex technology infrastructure of systems and databases critical to the university's mission and operation, including student information, financial aid, financials, human resources, document management and workflow, and various other ancillary campus systems. ERP Systems provides resources and services to ensure the collection, storage, management, and accessibility of student information is accurate and timely to help facilitate the success of students, faculty, staff, and administration.The purpose of the Information Technology (IT) Division is to provide the technology that empowers SDSU's success. The IT Division includes several departments and areas with the shared mission to leverage people and technology to support SDSU's commitment to innovative teaching, research, and service. The IT Division is led by the Chief Information Officer, who is ultimately responsible for developing the long-term infrastructure, services, and strategy necessary to support the University's mission of learning, discovery, and engagement. The IT Division has the stewardship responsibility for core IT assets on campus and the obligation to provide the services, training, and community building necessary to realize the benefits of those investments across the San Diego State University community. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science or business, or equivalent training and applied experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Analyst/Programmer, depending on the position assignment, may include working knowledge of a specific industry standard applications programming language and knowledge of standard systems analysis techniquesKey Qualifications1+ years of technical business and system analysis workGeneral knowledge of user support and the development of workflows and key progress indicators of efficiency of support.System analysis and hands-on project experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment (education, healthcare, military, etc.)Experience in application development and project management, preferably in higher education or other regulated industries.General knowledge of PeopleSoft CMS or related ERP systems used in Higher Education.General knowledge of PSQuery or other technical database languages used to create queries to pull data from an enterprise system into formats useful for technical teamGeneral knowledge of higher education enrollment business processes, procedures, and systemsCompensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $6,250 per month.Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
