Performance Assurance SpecialistPosition PurposeThe Performance Assurance Specialist is the primary customer service representative to all PSI customers once each project is complete. The Performance Assurance Specialist is also responsible for Building Automation System (BAS) operator training, BAS technical support, and BAS operational performance. The Performance Assurance Specialist must have excellent communication skills in order to properly explain and relate complex technical issues to customers with significantly less technical training.Duties, Tasks and ResponsibilitiesReview, inspect, and assess the performance of complex HVAC systems and various BAS systems.Commission and optimize all building systems for peak performance.Perform on-line and on-site troubleshooting of building performance problems throughout the term of the performance agreement.Set up remote access to BAS systems along with appropriate reporting and alarm functions.Work with others in the Performance Assurance group to ensure that all BAS functions are in place to properly monitor and evaluate the energy performance of the systems.Maintain a professional and often formal communication style to interact with customers.Demonstrate the ability to work at a steady and even pace of activity, both in the PSI office and on the job site, without regular and direct supervision.Complete very precise work with a strong attention to detail.Make quality and correct decisions.Communicate with confidence due to belief in the work and determinations.Be self-directed, motivated; work hard with limited supervision.Be analytical and meticulous; someone who enjoys figuring out solutions and opportunities.Exhibit a strong work ethic: do what it takes to get the desired results.Show interest in continuous personal development.Working ConditionsOffice functions will primarily be performed at PSI's main business office.Onsite system optimization, owner meetings and training presentations are an essential part of this position and will occur frequently.Work hours vary based on workload but should average 45-50 hours per week.Some overnight travel will be required.Minimum QualificationsExperience acquiring and analyzing data and determining how it impacts system performance and energy conservation results.Experience as an HVAC control technician or BAS system operator is strongly preferred.Experience working in a service-oriented position is strongly preferred.Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent.
