Performance Auditor Are you inquisitive and enjoy learning new things?  Do you enjoy working with teammates to accomplish a common goal?    Are you able to focus on details while considering the big picture?  The Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is seeking a Performance Auditor to help us make government better for Tennessee citizens by providing objective information to state officials and management about state entities' performance and fulfillment of their mission.  As a Performance Auditor within the Division of State Audit, you will participate in independent audits of state entities to determine whether they are effectively and efficiently carrying out their programs to meet their mission. Also, as a Comptroller employee, you will contribute to the Comptroller's mission to make government work better through these key responsibilities:Professionally representing the Comptroller's Office through clear communication with state leaders, auditee management, and team members.Producing concise, logical, and well-supported working papers that comply with Government Auditing Standards and best practices.Demonstrating an understanding of internal control principles and components and their significance to audit objectives.Evaluating and applying audit methods and using new technologies to improve audit efficiency and audit quality.Analyzing audit evidence and developing sound evidence-based conclusions for impactful audits.Presenting audit results to the Joint Subcommittees of the Government Operations Committee.Qualifications You are qualified for this position if you meet the following criteria:Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting (we may consider other relevant majors with a minimum of 18 semester hours in accounting)Critical thinking skills and attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills Organizational skills Microsoft Office Valid US driver licenseTravel Overnight travel is limited and dependent upon assignment.  Assignments are based on business need, but employee preference for travel is taken into consideration.  Compensation The Comptroller's Office offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package that includes twelve days of annual leave, twelve days of sick leave, insurance plans, a pension retirement plan, a 401(k), college fee waivers, and much more.   Our Office values work life balance with a standard 37.5-hour work and flexible schedules for employees, that include the ability to work from home.   Learn more about the benefits and employment perks we have to offer here.  About Our Office The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of state government.  We strive to deliver on our mission to make government work better, and we believe our success depends on our teamwork, our culture, and our commitment to our mission and goals.
