Top Client in need of Perm - Respiratory Therapist
Position Purpose This position
performs respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and those ordered
by physicians to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from
newborn to geriatric ages. Clinical Respiratory
Therapist's
primarily work with those patients in the critical care units, adult
general care, and pediatric general care, and may provide respiratory
care at a secondary care site consistent with the mission and
obligations of the facilitator.
Nature and Scope This position
is expected to integrate the respiratory care of the patient with other
care providers to achieve desired results. They are responsible for the
proper documentation of all patient records and department logs. In
addition, they are responsible for keeping abreast of technological
advances in applicable areas and are well versed in appropriate clinical
applications.
The Clinical
Respiratory Therapist is accountable for the assessment, planning,
implementation of care, and evaluation of Neonatal, Pediatric,
Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric patients and families. They must
demonstrate the ability to work with patient's physical, motor/sensory
adaptation, cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the population
being served, and meet standards of quality as measured by the
Unit/Department age specific competencies.
"Respiratory
Care" means the treatment, management, diagnostic testing, control and
care of persons with deficiencies and abnormalities associated with the
cardiopulmonary system. The Clinical Respiratory
Therapist has
the authority to perform and evaluate respiratory care, initiate CPR,
contact physicians, and perform all activities as assigned.
Continuous
comprehensive mental effort is required to provide optimal safe patient
care and the same mental effort is required when interacting with
internal and external contacts, exercising judgments, and making
decisions.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Name Description Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience of full-time Respiratory Care in a critical care setting.
License(s): Ability to obtain and
maintain a State of Nevada Board of Medical Examiners Respiratory Care
Practitioner License. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
from the National Board of Respiratory Care required.
State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst
license or equivalent as defined in NAC 652.346. To include Director of
point of care, General supervisor of point of care, Clinical laboratory
technologist, Blood gas technician, blood gas technologist required
within 6 months of hire.
Certification(s): Current AHA BLS certification required. AHA ACLS & PALS required with-in 6 Months.
