District 2 Public Health serves 13 counties in northeast Georgia, including Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties.
One of the fastest growing regions in the state, District 2 includes rural and urban communities with diverse public health challenges.

Job Responsibilities PH RN 1:Under supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or proceduresPH RN 2:Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.
Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.PH RN 3:Under broad supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.
Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.Additional Duties:Knows vaccine schedules for children and adultsGives correct needed vaccines to children and adultsGives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certificationsConducts audits for school and day caresConducts scoliosis screenings for schoolsConducts hearing/vision/dental screenings needed for school attendanceCross-trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinicsOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications PH RN 1:Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
Note: No experience required.PH RN 2:Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification ORAssociate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND One year of PHN experience AND Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.PH RN 3:Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.Preferred Qualifications:Superior interpersonal skillsAbility to work efficiently under established clinic protocolsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively with corporate clientsSelf-directedAbility to complete tasks without detailed supervisionExcellent computer skillsExperience vaccinating all age groupsAbility to read, write and speak Spanish Additional Information To be considered for employment at District 2 Public Health you must complete an online application.
