JOB SUMMARY: Visante is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to join our Specialty Pharmacy Services team. This role is integral to delivering high-quality services and optimal patient outcomes. Under the Supervision of the Specialty Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for evaluating pharmacotherapy, focusing on treatment efficiency, effectiveness, and drug cost. Your responsibilities will include clinical monitoring, regulatory compliance, and operational support while supervising Pharmacy Technicians and Medication Access Specialists. WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL: This is an on-site position in the Mt. Vernon, Washington area with flexibility for remote work, as scheduled—minimal travel. RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage clinical and distributive activities at the hospital's pharmacy locations, ensuring effective medication therapy.Provide compassionate and appropriate medication therapy, address patient concerns with confidentiality, and complete the medication distribution processes. Oversee therapy management in accordance with organization policies and protocols, identify and address medication errors and adverse reactions. Order and manage pharmacy supplies, medications, and materials to ensure compliance with regulations and complete documentation in a timely manner. Serve as a medication access specialist, as needed, and assume responsibility for overall pharmacy operations and services in the absence of the Specialty Pharmacy Manager. Oversee the work of pharmacy interns and technicians, ensuring compliance with delegated tasks and organizational standards.Consistently demonstrate the ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs assigned by the Specialty Pharmacy Manager or hospital leadership.Complete appropriate documentation promptly, following Client policies and procedures.Organize job functions and work area(s) to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.Contribute to the achievement of Quality Improvement and participates in QI activities. Ensure adherence to established standards, client policies, and Visante procedures. Report and resolve safety issues and incidents promptly. When authorized by the Specialty Pharmacy Manager, serve as their designated alternate, managing the Specialty Pharmacy Program's operations, including performance, personnel, and patient management oversight.Utilize support systems to maintain leadership continuity, collaborating with the Director of Pharmacy, the Compliance Officer, Human Resources, and the Finance Department, as needed.Provide relevant updates and handoffs to the Specialty Pharmacy Manager upon their return to ensure continuity of leadership activities.Perform other duties as assigned by the Specialty Pharmacy Manager, Visante Leadership team, or designee.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: EDUCATIONGraduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) strongly preferredLicensed as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Washington with license in good standing, or eligible for licensure EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, LICENSE, CERTIFICATIONSMinimum of 3 years of retail or specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
