PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Morris & Dickson is redefining pharmaceutical wholesale and specialty distribution to combine today's industry needs with the culture and high-touch service that is the company's legacy. This position requires an experienced pharmacist to begin with the essential tasks and move through transformational leadership to evolve the organization's clinical presence and insights as part of the growth strategy.This role requires a broad set of skills and will work cross-functionally with Compliance, Marketing, Procurement and Sales, with strategic focus on the following:
Regulatory: State-specific regulatory research for classification of state controls, reproductive drugs, etc. Supporting M&D compliance processes, including management of onsite pharmacy visits and other requirements. DSCSA Support, including identification and management of exempt products and waivers 340B program oversight Operations and Business Management: Review of drug spend portfolio Controlled Substance audit and oversight of state Prescription Monitoring Programs Provide guidance with NABP accreditations Clinical Provide drug information/ side by side drug comparison documents IT and Data Management Process ownership and validation of assigning item family and dosage units to new product additions including drug class, storage requirements, hazardous drug classifications, etc. Analytics and information solutions for contract management, drug shortage management, and other needs ad hoc Dashboard management to track spend, efficiencies and impact to patient care Dispensing audits Support strategy development with internal sales and marketing team using professional acumen and analytics Advocacy and Association Relations: Serve as a representative through key industry associations, professional societies and trade organizations. Serve as an expert for federal and state government relations and key customer stakeholders. Represent M&D at trade /customer /industry events Education: Work with marketing to development monthly Clinical Corner newsletter Development of compliance training program content for customer use Development / lead education content for customer engagement and customer events (articles, webinars, website content, education sessions, etc) Customer Relations: Addressing customer questions and managing pharmacy site visits as needed Manage customer communication related to collaborative practice agreements; state-specific requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE TO DO THE JOB: Degree from accredited College of Pharmacy and minimum 5 years' experience in a lead pharmacist role in a health system or independent retail pharmacy Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong managerial skills. Solid organizational skills and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel, and applicable programs/systems.
