Description
Reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy and is responsible for the preparation of the prescription by retrieving, counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and sometimes mixing the medication.
Prepares the prescription labels, selects the type of prescription container, and affixes the prescription and auxiliary labels to the container.
Computes and determines prices and files the prescription, which must be checked by a Registered Pharmacist before it is given to the patient.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Greets and receives customers and provides assistance by explaining and clarifying prescriptions, answering simple queries, providing assistance in locating pharmacy items etc.
Assists the Registered Pharmacist in providing and dispensing medication and other health care products to patients.
Receives written prescription s or requests for prescription refills from patients and prescriptions sent electronically from the doctor's office.
Performs routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication for patients, such as counting tablets and labeling bottles.
Consults the Director of Pharmacy and /or Registered Pharmacist and refers any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist.
Verifies whether the information on the prescription is complete and accurate.

Maintain client and family confidentiality Comply with FoundCare's policies and procedures Assist with the agency fundraising activities as requested, including promoting events, selling tickets, soliciting donations, and other tasks to support events Other duties as assigned Requirements Ability to communicate effectively with others, with or without the use of an interpreter Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language, with or without the use of auxiliary aids or services Clear understanding that FoundCare provides information on educating individuals on safer sex practices which would include but not limited to, exposure to explicit language, explicit printed material, and descriptions of explicit sexual activities as part of the agency's mission in the prevention and transmission of HIV disease PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes Ability to endure short, intermittent, and/or long periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties Ability to travel to all FoundCare offices and off-site locations and attend meetings, workshops, seminars plus travel to other FoundCare departments and conference rooms Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds or less over periods of 100 yards Accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, e.g.
