The Georgetown University School of Nursing (GUSON) seeks a Director for the PhD in Nursing Program for a 12-month full-time nursing faculty, campus based, who is tenure eligible at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, and shares a commitment to the mission, vision and core values of the greater University and the GUSON.

The PhD in Nursing Program Director is responsible for the leadership, operations, and quality of the PhD in Nursing Program at GUSON.
The program is primarily a campus based program with selected coursework delivered via hybrid modality.
The PhD in Nursing Program has a focus on developing nurse scientists who will advance health equity, social justice and ethics.

This role is an administrative appointment, and time served is at the discretion of the Dean.
The primary role is administrative, with 50% effort dedicated to the administrative role.
The remaining effort is 40% research and 10% teaching.
Faculty responsibilities also include service to the University, including contributing to related graduate program instruction, advising students in research, serving on assigned committees, and engaging in scholarly activities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and antiracism as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment at GUSON.
Responsibilities of the Position: Provide vision and strategic direction for PhD in Nursing Program. Lead, plan, and coordinate program operations, quality, and growth Coordinate, direct and implement the PhD curriculum and programmatic activities Develop and implement the program evaluation plan Monitor, report, and conduct oversight of program activities (admissions, retention, graduation rates, employment rates, student satisfaction.
) Monitor and report program outcomes (publications, dissemination, grants / fellowships, employment rates, etc.)
to the PhD faculty, Executive faculty, Middle States, Graduate School and other relevant external entities.
Support, evaluate, and foster the professional development of program faculty Collaborate with the faculty, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS), Georgetown University Medical Center (GUMC), including marketing/communications, advancement, SON leadership and SON administration (admissions, finance, compliance). Serve as a teaching faculty in the PhD program, and PhD advisor. Support student success and progression to completion Promote fiscal responsibility of the program Plan and implement future program initiatives Enhance the program's reputation and visibility Engage in scholarly activities including externally funded research, publications and grant writing. Participate in GUSON governance activities The PhD in Nursing Program Director reports to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs or their designee.
Requirements Hold a research focused doctoral degree in nursing or related subject Hold a masters degree in nursing if terminal degree is not in nursing Hold, or be eligible for RN licensure in the District of Columbia (DC), and in home state if not resident in Washington, DC Be eligible for rank at Associate/Full professor standing (tenure eligible) at Georgetown University Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience Research Have an active body of scholarship and research consistent with tenure track expectations for the eligible rank Have an active program of externally funded research as a principal investigator (e.g., foundation, NIH, HRSA) Demonstrated record of peer reviewed publications commensurate with rank Experience in developing successful research programs and research teams Teaching Experience Have experience in the development, teaching, advising, and administration of graduate (doctoral) level educational courses/programs Have experience teaching in a campus based and hybrid educational formats Experience serving as chair of PhD-level dissertation committees Interested candidates should submit: A current CV Cover Letter detailing your interests in the position, teaching experience and area(s) of research Diversity Statement Contact information for 3 references
