Job Description Job Overview: This position performs phlebotomies and other specimen collections in physicians' offices, at draw sites, and at health fairs.
This position accurately identifies patient, selects correct patient in HIS and other systems, retreives correct lab orders, and completes collection task.
This position properly collects specimens, accurately labels samples, and correctly prepares them for transport to lab.
This position communicates with patients, nurses, physicians' offices, family members, and other caregivers.
This position maintains standing orders and required documentation for waste removal, fire drills, and other regulatory requirements.
This position does not require direct supervision to process specimens.
