Description

Responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist to improve mobility, relieve pain, prevent or limit permanent physical disability and promote overall fitness and wellness.


Provide therapy services consistent with the patient's approved plan of care to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum performance.
Document patient care observations, interventions and evaluation on the day services are rendered.
Assist Physical Therapist with the preparation of patient progress notes.
Confer with Physical Therapist to modify existing physical therapy treatment plans and training needs to achieve maximum results.
Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provide results to physical therapist in person or through progress notes.
Utilize varied solutions to educate and promote the health and independence of the patient which includes instruction in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices and durable medical equipment.
Assess, monitor, document and report progress of patient's health and condition using required documents, reports and established timelines.
Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities.
Communicate with or instruct caregivers on patient therapeutic activities or treatment plans.
RequirementsAssociate's degree for Physical Therapist Assistant.
Current state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure.
6 months home health care experience preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Current CPR certificate.
Good organizational and communication skills.
