Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our Rehab Department!
The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, administering, and documenting physical therapy services to patients 0-100+ years of age.
This position administers treatments and physical agents per established plan of care in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
The Physical Therapist assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine normal life within the constraints of their disability.
This role coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (PTA, PT Aide, etc.).
The Physical Therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
This position provides input in formulating budget, assists in evaluating department performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines.
The Physical Therapist ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis.
This role participates in all departmental training and safety programs as required.
Major Job Duties & Responsibilities
Completes evaluations, reassessments and discharges on patients referred for physical therapy services.
Demonstrates ability to observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend changes as needed to ensure good outcome measures.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively plan, supervise and delegate to PTA, PT Aides, PT students to provide services in a competent and efficient manner.
Willing to instruct therapy aides, therapy students, new graduates, recently hired therapists and other staff members.
Performs patient treatments according to established therapy standards and department policies and procedures.
Demonstrates knowledge of physical therapy modalities.
Completes necessary documentation according to policies and procedures.
Daily charting supports therapy units billed.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations in a positive and professional manner.
Exhibits good work habits and efficient use of own and others time to be productive.
Meets deadlines and is on time for scheduled appointments and meetings.
Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
Treats patients/family with respect and dignity.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians and follows physician orders, protocols and precautions.
Participates in projects within the department, the facility and the community to enhance rehabilitative services and promote growth.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Consults others as appropriate to collaborate in improving patient care and performance.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

Must possess effective communication and writing skills.
Must possess valid DL; may be required to travel to other hospital buildings, satellite clinic, and patients homes or out of town to attend meetings/continuing education courses.
Must possess computer skills in order to use e-mail, Word, Excel, Power Point, internet, electronic medical records, etc.
Education Requirements
Current state Physical Therapy licensure.
Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy program.
Current BLS.
Experience
Preferred but not required.
Schedule
Eight (8) to ten (10) hour shifts.
Rotating weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed to provide coverage.
