Responsibilities
• Providing medical and surgical patient care under physician supervision• First assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgery• Vein and radial artery harvesting• First assisting with CABG, valve, aortic, and thoracic surgery• Performing general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic• Admitting cardiothoracic patients• Attending rounds in the ICU and stepdown unit• Completing discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and follow-up• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills• Embracing the concept of team practice
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a physician assistant program• Current applicable state licensure or ability to obtain upon hire• Current ACLS and PALS certifications• Must submit information for a National Practitioner Data Base search
