Our multi-disciplinary care team is a unique model of fully integrated medical and behavioral health care with licensed therapists and care managers.
Our team consists of many specialists, family medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed behavioral health provider, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and care coordinators.
We serve a rural community, with a varied population.
The health center provides extensive community health and prevention programs and school-based services.

Steele Memorial (SMMC) is a county owned, 18 bed, CMS certified Critical Access Hospital and Level IV trauma center.
The center also includes a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) consisting of family practice, behavioral health, and a walk in-urgent care clinic.
There is an additional multifaceted specialty clinic with 11 outpatient services such as audiology, cardiology, dermatology, obstetrics/gynecology, oncology/hematology, ophthalmology, orthopedics & sports medicine, pain clinic, urology, and wound care.
SMMC offers an extensive range of services from a birthing center to comprehensive emergency services.
Steele Memorial has even been recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital 5 times, Top 50 Critical Access Hospital to Know, Top 67 Critical Access Hospitals to Know, and Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals.
The Salmon area boasts an abundance of activities from a new wave park located in the middle of town to skiing at Lost Trail Ski Area ski resort 45 miles away, or finding solitude in one of many tranquil hot springs.
The community hosts an array of recreation with managed trails including mountain biking, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, atv-ing, motor biking, hiking, and horseback riding.

Requirements Education and Experience: Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or; Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.
State accreditation based on certifying exam.
Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.
