Summary: The surgical services at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the APP will work alongside experienced physician and APP colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients, inclusive but not limited to Trauma, Orthopedics, Vascular, and Acute Care Surgery, throughout the course of their hospital stay.
Responsibilities: Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients. PAs and NPs with an RNFA are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures. Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team. Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines. Qualifications: Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
