o We have 10 epileptologists and 3 APPs all dedicated to helping people live well despite epilepsy and seizures
o 3 neurosurgeons help us provide highly advanced surgical treatments
o Psychiatry, social work, neuropsychology, and epilepsy nurses round out our wraparound care

Our Strong Program
o The program serves a large population with a variety of complex epilepsy diagnoses, using a team approach toward seizure management, wellness, and prevention.
o We offer our APPs personalized on boarding, mentorship and career development
o Our outpatient teams offer whole life care to help people control seizures and live their best lives
o We offer the full range of diagnostic testing and treatments for people with seizures, including surgical treatments and brain stimulator implantations
o Our APPs are highly involved in our program, providing direct patient care, input to pre-surgical evaluations, stimulator management, and program improvement projects.
o We conduct regularly scheduled educational opportunities including Grand Rounds, journal club, guest lectures
o Our APPs are active participants, collaborating with care partners and providing education for nurses, EEG techs, and the general community.
o The epilepsy physician assistant or nurse practitioner collaborates with a high functioning team of providers to primarily provide follow up with patients who present with seizures and epilepsy as well as participation in our Refractory Epilepsy Surgical Conference and Journal Club.
Shift
o Full Time - Daytime schedule with no weekends, overnight call, or holidays.
o 60% of time in the outpatient department clinic split between Hartford and Enfield
o 40% of time inpatient at Hartford Hospital supporting in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
o APPs collaborate closely with specific doctors to provide personalize care for our clinic patients

Qualifications
o Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA), or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), is required.
o Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant (PA), or National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is required.
o Neurology/Epilepsy experience as a PA, NP, clinical student, or RN is preferred.
