Description: Position Title: Physician Gastroenterologist Description: Medical professional who studies diagnoses and treats illness injuries and other ailments. They have knowledge of medical ethics human anatomy pharmacology and other specialties depending on their field. Physicians provide preventative care detect developing health problems and give advice to help patients develop healthy habits. Physicians are also known as doctors or medical practitioners. Certifications/License Board Certification: Must be Board Certified /Board Eligible Gastroenterologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency. Working Hours Regular hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Weeknight Call M/F 4:30pm to 8am (If required) Oncall contractors physician(s) must be always available for phone consultations with VA residents and physicians.
