Transplant Nephrology – Clinical FacultyRush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, seeks a full-time Transplant Nephrologist at the level of an Assistant or Associate Professor of Medicine.
Candidates must have completed a formal ASN/AST Accredited Transplant Nephrology Fellowship and have Board Certification in Nephrology. The candidate will join the Division of Nephrology and work within the Transplant Service Line, which is comprised of eleven Advanced Practice Providers and thirteen clinical faculty.
The Transplant Nephrologist will be responsible for all phases of care of kidney and pancreas transplant recipients, including:
Pre and post-transplant carePerforming kidney transplant biopsiesAssessment of living donorsSupervision of renal fellowsResearchThe Transplant Nephrologist will also provide support to the outreach strategy by attending outreach clinics in the greater Chicagoland area, with the goal of building referral streams for Kidney Transplant patients.
The mission of the Transplant Service Line at Rush University Medical Center is to provide superior patient care and maintain superb clinical outcomes. We work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to ensure that patients receive true multidisciplinary care in the entire continuum of pretransplant, perioperative, and post-transplant care. The Transplant Service Line has locations across Chicagoland and northwest Indiana, with the kidney transplant program having an annual volume of approximately 150.
