Opportunity InformationSutter West Bay Medical Group has an opportunity for a Neurointerventional physician to join our premier and innovative group in Modesto, CA.
The position is based at Sutter Memorial Medical Center (SMMC) in Modesto.
The physician will serve as a core leader and partner with the local SMMC and broader Sutter System teams to prepare the hospital to advance from a Primary Stroke Certified Center to Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy Capable center.
SMMC, with 419 licensed beds and just under 100,000 annual ED visits has a well-established stroke program.
The hospital currently treats over 600 stroke patients per year, a number anticipated to increase with an advanced certification.
The stroke program is part of a system of care as a designated EMS receiving center.
Sutter Memorial Medical Center has earned the Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and Target: Stroke Elite Honor Roll for implementing a high standard of stroke care.
SMMC is a regional medical center with a large referral-based catchment area covering five counties.
The hospital is an accredited and certified Level 2 Trauma Center (with 24/7 Neurosurgery coverage), STEMI center, and Ortho joint center.
The neurology service line includes a neurohospitalist program and 24/7 acute teleneurology service.
The neuroscience service line consists of a critical care program, has board certified neuro critical care intensivists, a hospitalist program, designated neuro/stroke unit, neuro radiology, rehabilitation program and transition of care programs.
The Neurointerventional physician will join Sutter West Bay Medical Group which has a long history of high-quality, innovative thrombectomy and stroke care and is part of the broader Sutter Health Stroke Network which includes one Comprehensive Stroke Center and multiple thrombectomy capable centers across its Northern California footprint.
