This position is located in the Specialty Medicine Service Line.
The Physician provides consultation services and follow-up of medical subspecialty patients in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting.
Responsibilities include:
Evaluate, triage, and prioritize requests from Primary Care providers for outpatient hematology/oncology subspecialty consultations. Obtain medical histories and conduct physical examinations. Order and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing. Plan and prescribe treatment. Coordinate medical management and care with Primary Care providers and other medical personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). Provide Hematology/Oncology on-call services as assigned. Minimum Requirements: United States Citizenship. Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or territory. Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty program. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Experience: Board Certified/Eligible. 3 years experience in Oncology. Physical Requirements: This position requires a pre-employment physical.
