SUMMARY OF JOB
The Plant Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance function, people assigned, machinery, and equipment and building structure for the Plant and Office campus. This person will interact with all functional organizations in the facility and be responsible for ensuring achievement of departmental operational targets. The Plant Engineer must possess a core understanding of the production processes and systems and demonstrate the ability to learn as well as to instruct and develop others in maintaining the equipment and facilities.
The Plant Engineer will provide leadership and instructions to the Maintenance Supervisors, establish equipment reliability standards and monitoring procedures to expose problems and see that quality standards are maintained. He / She will be involved in championing continuous improvement activities, adherence to company rules and regulations and safety rules and regulations. He /She will establish performance expectations for all of the departmental employees; and observe and evaluate employees in meeting the performance standards.
The Plant Engineer will develop, evaluate and document manufacturing processes, process control techniques and manufacturing process flow. Collaborate with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods. He /She will confer with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts or material purchases and evaluate products according to quality standards and specifications.
The Plant Engineer will create and maintain accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts and provide engineering support to production departments.

KNOWLEDGE
· B.S. or related degree in industrial/mechanical engineering and ten (10) plus years of demonstrated maintenance/foundry leadership.
· Advanced knowledge in the following areas: blue prints, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, electronics, electrical troubleshooting, pipefitting, industrial rigging, mechanical drives, bulk handling conveyors, and machine installation in a heavy industrial foundry environment.
· A working knowledge of all processes and equipment in the foundry
· The ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics and design plans
· Microsoft Office computer applications
· Engineering design computer applications
· Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC)
· Knowledge or exposure to ISO 9001 quality systems or equivalent.
· Knowledge of safe work practices and OSHA health and safety requirements
