JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary: The Plant Manager has P&L responsibility for the facility and is responsible for driving revenue and managing all expenses including sales, customer service, and product development. The Plant Manager is expected to set a target and then deliver it by managing the operations, resources, people, and financials. The Plant Manager will lead and direct all plant activities, is responsible for meeting production schedules and producing a product in accordance with customer requirements while achieving the plant financial targets.
Specific Duties: Establishes goals, objectives and guidelines covering all phases of plant operations and staff activities to maintain a safe, efficient, functional, operational and profitable plant. Early engagement and approval of programs coming into plant. Drives performance to achieve financial and operational targets. Communicates across the organization to ensure attainment to targets and successful launches. Engages the hourly workforce through positive employee relations programs such as high performance teams (HPT) and continuous improvement actions to ensure all employees are involved in the business. Directs, guides and motivates immediate subordinates in attainment of projected goals and objectives to increase operational efficiency. Ensures compliance with all corporate communications, adheres to and promotes HSE & E policies and procedures. Leads activities to ensure a continuous improvement culture is established in the plant. Leads and manages, the plant continuous improvement operations around safety, quality, efficiency, and/or financials. Communicates with customers and suppliers to identify/resolve concerns on an as needed basis. Positive Employee and Labor Relations. Ensure that material released from this facility has achieved the highest quality standard possible. Lead the Adient Manufacturing System initiatives to promote continuous improvement and world class manufacturing. Plans and forecasts plant requirements with respect to equipment, manpower, materials and facilities to establish budgets for labor and materials. Develop strong working relationships with functional groups that will support the business – quality, commercial, program management, engineering, and labor relations. Maintains contact with civic and business leaders in the community relations and to improve the Plant's local image by participation in organizations with company interests. All other tasks as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in industrial management, engineering, or business administration. 8 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing to include at least 5 years in a leadership role. Solid leadership skills – ability to lead and motivate team. Problem solving skills. Strong written, verbal, and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Strong financial acumen - Must understand an income statement, cash flow, and working capital. Must have the ability to drive financial performance. Ability to influence without direct reporting relationship. Decisive. PRIMARY LOCATION: Eldon
