Plant Manager SmartHire is looking for a highly skilled Plant Manager for a client on the Eastside of Seattle. This is a Direct Hire position. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Plant Manager within the Food Manufacturing industry. A degree in Food Science, strong technical, leadership and communication skills are all required. Salary: $160k-$180k + up to 25% bonus

Summary This position provides leadership and inspiration to create a high-performance plant operations team responsible for the safe & efficient production of quality food products. They will work cross functionally with the leadership group managing all aspects of the Plant Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Supports and maintains a strong quality and food safety culture ensuring that products, processes, and facilities meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
· Promotes supports and ensures compliance with all food safety and quality practices, policies, and initiatives.
· Leads and nurtures an environment of continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing facility.
· Develops and maintains a competent, committed and productive team of managers, supervisors, and support personnel.
· Manages the performance, training and development of all plant employees.
· Drives to achieve goals and objectives consistent with operating plans and projections.
· Manages and monitors financial performance, including budgeting, forecasts, operating expenses and capital expenditures.
· Manages plant capital plan ensuring sound investments and optimal ROI.
· Maintains plant conditions as "audit-ready" and in accordance with KPSC, FDA, USDC, third-party regulatory agencies and customer requirements.
· Optimizes plant throughput (Right First Time) including yields, waste, productivity and reliability.
· Builds strong partnerships and collaborates effectively with all functional areas; Logistics, R&D, Finance, HR, QA, Category Management and Supply Chain.
· Maintains awareness of current best practices and innovations in food manufacturing and processing.
· Travels as necessary to collaborate with other food industry facilities and personnel.
· Creates a positive and proactive safety culture. Demonstrates strong commitment and leadership to providing a sustainable, safe, and healthful work environment. Ensures full compliance with all applicable company and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements.
Qualifications · Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or similar
· Minimum of 10 + years' of experience as a Plant Manager within the Food Manufacturing industry – cold freezer & multi line shifts preferred
· Excellent computer skills
· Proven track record of increasing responsibility, authority, and performance
· Technological proficiency with current manufacturing best-practices
· Exceptional leadership skills; communicating a vision, strategic thinking and a proven ability to motivate, engage and develop employees
· Outstanding analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
· Able to understand critical issues and respond with a sense of urgency
· Excellent communication skills
