Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all incoming and
outgoing shipments, ensuring products are properly packaged, labeled, and
documented.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving:
Receive, inspect, and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase
orders or packing slips.
Unpack and organize items into inventory, ensuring products are stored properly.
Report and document any discrepancies, damage, or missing items.
Shipping:
Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments, ensuring goods are properly packed
to prevent damage.
Schedule shipments with carriers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
Update the inventory system with all received and shipped goods.
Coordinate with the purchasing department to manage stock levels and reorder as
needed.
Logistics Coordination:
Communicate with carriers, and internal teams to coordinate delivery schedules and
resolve any shipping issues.
Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations regarding shipping and
receiving.
Follow all safety procedures related to handling equipment and hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or inventory
management are a plus.
Proven experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Familiarity with inventory software and shipping software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UPS,
FedEx systems).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and operate forklifts or other warehouse
equipment (if applicable).
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Work Environment:
Primarily a warehouse environment with physical activity such as standing, lifting, and
operating equipment.
Occasionally requires overtime or weekend work to meet shipping deadlines.
