About the role: Richmond Aesthetic Surgery and Dermlounge, located in the beautiful Short Pump area in the West End of Richmond, Virginia, is seeking a full time, Board Eligible/Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with a special interest and training in Microvascular Breast Reconstruction and Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Led by owner Dr. Neil J. Zemmel, MD FACS, Central Virginia's pre-eminent breast and body surgeon, our highly skilled team includes one surgical PA, two medical assistants, and a professional and engaging support staff, which includes a marketing and branding team. The Dermlounge, our medical spa, is staffed by two full time injectors and two aestheticians, providing treatments with a full complement of lasers including the Sciton Halo/BBL, Moxi/BBL, Bare HR lasers, Diamond Glow, Morpheus 8, Skin Pen, Coolsculpt, and CO2 Laser. The medical spa synergizes with the surgical practice to provide a complete range of facial aesthetic treatments. Located in an upscale 10,000 square foot space housing eight exam rooms, three procedure rooms and including the Dermlounge, our growing practice is also expanding to Chesterfield in 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to patient care at both our Short Pump and Chesterfield locations.
What you'll do: Conduct 20 to 30 daily consultations with patients, assessing their needs, goals, and medical history to develop personalized treatment plans. Office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm. Perform five to eight surgical procedures a week with a focus on facial cosmetic surgery, microvascular breast reconstruction and breast reduction, working with precision and expertise, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. Surgical days begin at 7:30 am. Provide comprehensive post-operative care, including follow-up appointments, wound management, and addressing any patient concerns. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in facial plastic surgery through research and continuing education. Work collaboratively with other medical professionals, including nurses, anesthesiologists, and office staff, to provide exceptional patient care. Qualifications: Board Certified / Board Eligible Plastic Surgeon. Microvascular Breast Reconstruction training preferred. Must have interest in Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Excellent surgical skills and a proven track record of success. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for and commitment to exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
