Salary Range: $20.45 - $32.93/Hour
Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to perform plumbing installation, maintenance, and repairs in County buildings and facilities.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position.

Maintains plumbing equipment and systems; and installs, maintains, extends and alters all piping, fixtures, plumbing appliances and plumbing appurtenances, in connection with sanitary drainage, vent systems, and public or private water supply systems.
Installs, repairs or replaces various pipes, fittings and fixtures of water systems, drainage systems, and plumbing systems according to specifications and local, state and federal plumbing codes and regulations; performs skilled plumbing duties on water heaters, sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water filters, grease traps, showers, water pumps, ice machines, etc.
Diagnoses and repairs plumbing problems and issues; troubleshoots leaks, clogs and other plumbing issues; makes necessary repairs; clears blocked drains, sinks, toilets and urinals; performs maintenance on drinking fountains; repairs leaks on faucets, drains, pumps, hot water tanks, water lines, piping and valves; and repairs piping, hose, fittings, adapters, couplings, broken valves, etc.
; and repairs or replaces plumbing parts and equipment.
Performs pressure testing on newly installed plumbing systems; inspects to ensure that installation conforms to local, state, and federal codes and regulations and contract specifications; and makes final inspection to ensure all fixtures are in place and property connected.
Performs renovations or repairs to swimming pools; monitors pool water, chlorine levels, and sand filters; installs chlorinators and injectors; maintains and/or replaces valves, lint strainers, motors, pumps, filters, and sand; ensures compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations
Determines amount of materials needed to complete projects; provides cost projections as requested; gathers equipment, tools, parts, and supplies; monitors inventory levels; and orders new or replacement materials as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; two years of experience in plumbing or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
