Introduction
Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center (SRSTC) within the Department of Health Services is hiring a Plumber in Mauston, WI.
This position works 6:30am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
SRSTC opened in 2001 and provides care and treatment for several different patient populations.
The center houses Wisconsin's Sexually Violent Persons Program, provides care and treatment for persons found not guilty by reasons of mental disease or mental defect, and provides court ordered treatment, testing, and education to patients found not competent to stand trial.
SRSTC is a 500-bed treatment facility and is part of the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS).

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program employer Position Summary
In this role, you will perform duties as a skilled plumber, utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the plumbing trades.
You'll inspect, repair, and maintain all plumbing and related mechanical operations, including heating, ventilation, and distribution systems in accordance with the provisions of the plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or job orders.
Salary Information
The starting salary is between $45.36 and $46.82 per hour, depending upon amount of leave time selected, plus excellent benefits.
A 12-month probationary period is required.
This position is represented by the Wisconsin State Building Trades bargaining unit.
Job Details All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SRSTC or medical personnel approved by the facility after their start date.
All applicants who may be appointed will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing up and down and working on ladders, and physical strength and stamina to work overhead, to bend twist, crawl and work on feet for sustained periods.
Applicants will be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants must possess and maintain or be eligible to obtain licensure as a Journeyman or Master Plumber by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS).
Eligible means that you hold licensure in another state and are eligible to obtain WI licensure prior to appointment.
In addition, well-qualified applicants will have: Registration or ability to obtain registration from the Wisconsin DSPS in Cross Connection and Control .
Registration must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.
Familiarity with Chapter SPS 382 plumbing codes and guidelines.
Experience training or directing others in the plumbing trade.
