Police Officer, Garden Plain Police Department

The City of Garden Plain is seeking applications for the position of police officer. We are a community of 1000 population, and when fully staffed, we have two officers and the chief.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or GEDNo felony convictionsNo Brady/Giglio/Garrity background or disqualifying criminal historyFully commissioned/KCPOST certified preferred, but non-certified applicants will be considered depending on pre-employment testing scoresCompensation: Starting pay is commensurate with qualifications and prior service. Non-certified wage starts at $20.00 per hour with an increase after certification. The 2024 pay plan is currently under study to align with regional law enforcement salaries for experienced certified lateral transfers. This position is open until 12-31-24.
