We set high standards in everything that we do and hold ourselves accountable for achieving them.Day to Day Responsibilities include but are not limited to: The role of a Senior Accountant within our Advanced Business Services team is to ensure the accurate preparation and review of accounts work in accordance with budget timelines and accounting standards. This includes overseeing client accounts, taxation and financial requirements as directed, building strong relationships with clients, and providing technical advice on complex accounting matters.
Preparation & Finalisation of Financial Statements:
Manage the preparation of full sets of accounts from initial client records through to finalisation meetings.Accounts Compliance:
Ensure accounts are compiled in accordance with accounting standards (FRS105 & 102).Review management accounts.VAT Compliance:
Review simple VAT returns. Strong understanding of VAT legislation.Effective Deadline Management:
Proactively manage multiple client deadlines and ensure work is completed to meet these deadlines.Budgeting:
Maintain accountability of your budgets on tasks.Delegation:
Effectively delegate tasks to junior staff, providing the necessary support and guidance to ensure they meet expectations. Review of work delegated to the team.Qualifications, Experience & Skills required: ACA/CA/ACCA, ICAS or an equivalent internationally recognised professional accounting qualification.Minimum of 3 years relevant UK work experience with a reputable audit firm.Thorough knowledge of current auditing standards, techniques and best practice.Exceptional communication, negotiation and client relationship management skills with a collaborative approach.Comprehensive understanding of risk management frameworks, internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements.Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify risks and control deficiencies.In addition to the responsibilities listed above, you will be required to undertake GDPR training in order to fully understand the regulations and ensure all work is carried out in a compliant manner.
