Position Title: Postdoc - Discrete Mathematics and Logic Appointment Type: Post Doc/Trainee Job Description: Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University invites applications for two year postdoctoral position(s) with possible extension to a third year subject to availability of funding and satisfactory performance. The expected start date is August 16, 2024.
This opening is in Discrete Mathematics and Logic. The successful candidates should be working in both areas, this includes research in descriptive set theory, graph theory, graph colorings, forbidden substructures in graphs.
The position has a 2-1 teaching load and a requirement to be involved with mentoring undergraduate students in research through the Iowa State Math Research Teams
Required Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Mathematics or a closely related discipline obtained by appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
Demonstrated research interests in Discrete Mathematics and Logic.
