Job Description
A postdoctoral associate position in the area of microfluidic biotechnology is available at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA, USA). The focus of the position is on development of microfluidic and molecular biotechnology for epigenomic and multiomic profiling of tissue samples. The postdoctoral associate will develop new technologies for creating genome-wide profiles of tissue samples with relevance to cancer and brain disorders. The postdoctoral associate will also apply these tools to generate biological insights into disease processes. The postdoctoral associate will supervise junior researchers, write manuscripts, and disseminate research results to the broad community.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry, molecular biology, engineering or a related field. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.
- Strong background in biotechnology with a history of peer-reviewed publications.
- Experience with animal work
- Excellent communication skills

- Experience functioning in interdisciplinary collaborative teams
- Interest in bioinformatics work
