Postdoctoral Position in Skin Immunology/Systems Biology Research Scumpia Lab 2023-2024 University of California Los Angeles Requisition Number: JPF09341 The Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is currently recruiting for a full-time postdoctoral position in Dr. Philip Scumpia's laboratory. This postdoctoral position is focused on understanding how the immune system contributes to skin disease toward our understanding of cutaneous wound healing, cutaneous infection, inflammatory skin disease, vaccine biology, and skin cancer. The laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Medicine/Division of Dermatology, the I3T, Bioengineering, and the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (Tumor Cell Biology Program) at the University of California, Los Angeles. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in transgenic/knockout animal models, handling RNA, DNA and protein. His or her skill set should include: o Immunohistochemistry o Single cell and/or spatial transcriptomics o FACS analysis o Immuno-blotting o Mammalian cell culture o CRISPR knockout o Microscopy o Small animal work Interested individuals should have: o Strength in bioinformatic skills, a significant advantage o Fluency in English and strong written and oral communication skills: Prerequisites o Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship: Preferred but not required o At least one first-authored publication in a top-ranked, peer-reviewed journal o A Ph.D. is required The shared values of the DGSOM are expressed in the Cultural North Star, which was developed by members of our community and affirms our unswerving commitment to doing what's right, making things better, and being kind.
