The research activities will include developing models to better understand the impacts of decarbonization policies on air quality at the community scales, applying low-cost air sensors to monitor air quality in environmental justice communities, and conducting laboratory experiments to identify the link between electronic cigarette aerosol physicochemical properties and the biological outcomes. Professor Yifang Zhu at EHS Department of FSPH is looking for a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher with keen interest of multidisciplinary research that involves atmospheric monitoring and modeling, exposure and health effect assessment. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn advanced techniques including advanced atmospheric transport models, state-of-the-art aerosol characterization methods, and high throughput screening. The successful candidate needs possession of hands-on experience in data collection and analysis, model development, aerosol sample collection, and particle physicochemical characterization. Postdoctoral researcher will assist in planning of experiments, methods development, data reduction, and manuscript preparation as part of the research. This position is available immediately and initial appointment will be 1 year, contingent upon performance, the appointment could be extended. The salary (including full university benefits) will commensurate with experience and set by the University of California pay scale.
