Job Description (meant to be a description of basic job tasks, not all inclusive) Pouring: Proper weight & clamp placement per size of mold before pouringProper inspection of sprue & risers to be correct and any debris removedRead master for requirements and special instructionsProper pouring technique (even stream, pour box full, proper height of riser)Proper gas removal technique as pouringPlacement of hot topping and heat tags after pourRemoval of clamps & weights when cool Ladle Repair: Place ladles on preheater and safely lightKnock out, replace, or repair lining in ladles (including safety liner)Make ceramic pot for hand shank General: Safe operation of hoistSafe operation of forkliftRead and understand master sheetsRead measuring devicesWork safely in a team environmentMaintain proper housekeeping for work areaOther duties as assigned by supervisor Requirements Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Skills: Requires the use of basic arithmetic functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing along with reading and understanding shop paperwork.
Abilities: Must have the ability to use direct reading and fixed gauges, work with percentages and decimals, and achieve fork lift certification.
Physical Requirements of position: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, must be able to stand for long periods of time and must be able to work in a hot environment.
Working conditions: Normal foundry atmosphere.
