We are looking for a Power Systems Consultant to join Grid Software's Power Technologies International (PTI) team. This role is critical to the planning and integration of renewables, storage, and FACTS to the electrical grid and to perform large-scale simulations of electrical transmission systems for clients such as power producers, independent system operators, and transmission providers to develop solutions for safe and reliable power system operations.
This is a remote position based in the Contiguous U.S.
You'll make an impact as you:
Perform transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior.
Prepare detailed written reports describing analyses performed, conclusions, and recommendations.
Work in small project teams, ensuring deliverables are of high quality and projects are completed within budget and schedule.
Develop automation scripts to improve the speed and accuracy of simulations and analysis.
Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
Deliver on-site technical consulting/training services.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.
At least one year of relevant experience in the electric power industry (time earning an advanced relevant degree and relevant internships may be considered towards the one-year experience requirement).
Practical experience using advanced power systems analysis tools.
Candidate must have knowledge (through experience, coursework, or applicable related internship) of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability.
Ability to travel 10% domestically.
Preferred qualifications:
Prior experience in Power System Consulting.
Transmission system planning or operations experience in MISO or SPP footprints.
Master's degree or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power and Energy Systems.

The salary range for this position is $66,500 - $139,080. An annual incentive target also is part of the compensation package for this position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
