As a Practical Tech with OrthoArizona, you will get to: Ensure equipment is in working order, maintain radiology supplies and report any malfunctions.
Explain all procedures to patients including answering any questions presented.
Complete X-Ray orders in system, protect patients from unnecessary exposure to radiation by utilizing shielding equipment.
Document patient care services in chart importing of outside imaging to office PACS.
Production of CDs of office images for patients and providers.
Scan documents into EMR.
Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
Take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Check in of outside imaging.
Maintain accurate QC logs and service records, maintain and monitor dosimetry badges, etc.
as required by state and federal regulations.
All other duties assigned.
Qualifications: Knowledge of radiology equipment.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology.
Working knowledge of computer programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Understand/Perform training on electronic medical record software.
Continue to expand knowledge of electronic medical record software as updates occur.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of approved American College of Radiology Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist Program (PRT).
Certificate of Limited Scope of Medical Imaging Modality by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (PRT).
Arizona State license of Limited Scope Medical Radiologic Technologist Board of Examiners (MRTBE).
Maintain CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications: 1 - 2 years Radiology, preferably in a busy orthopedic practice or hospital.
